The Reality of Support: Navigating Friendships as an Artist

When I first started sharing my photography, I naturally looked to my friends and family to help spread the word—to like, comment, and share my work. At times, it felt like an unspoken agreement: if they truly supported me, they’d engage with my art, show up to my events, or even hire me for projects. But as time went on, I noticed something—while they loved that I was creating, their engagement wasn’t always consistent.
